1 Month Down

Monday January 29- It was a big day. We got up early but couldn't feed Miss Ruby. She is going in to get those extra teeth pulled. When I noticed the teeth I had never seen anything like that before. I looked online and found out that it is not that uncommon for small dogs. I called Peggy Adams, that's where we had her fixed and I thought they could do it or give me someplace in the area that could. Well they don't do that sort of thing but gave me a number. I called and told them what was going on and they gave me an estimate that was reasonable. I talked it over with Jeff and we called back to set up this appointment. So today was the day. We were suppose to drop her off between 9-10, at St. Francis Animal Shelter. When we pulled into the parking lot both of us were a bit skeptical. We didn't want to judge a book by it's cover so we went in. The lady at the desk was friendly enough. After we left her both of us didn't feel all that good leaving. It was going to be a long 5 1/2 hours. We had a few things to get done. There was the dreaded Walmart across the street so we went in to get what we needed there. Then Jeff went to The Guitar Center to get his guitar adjusted, but there was no tech there today. Next we drove over to get some lunch at Outback. Our lunch was really good and so was the service. We looked at a few stores before heading back to get our baby. When we arrived there was 3 other people waiting to pick up there animals. When they brought Ruby out we both felt horrible. She wasn't very happy with us. The lady that brought Ruby out was different. I think she was a vet tech. She asked us if we wanted the teeth they pulled, and handed me a container. I looked in and saw that there was only like 4 teeth in there. I knew she had more than that, that needed pulled. I asked her if they got all those extra teeth on top and she assured me they got all of them. I just figured that they were so small that they didn't keep them. I never dreamed I should have checked. I did not.... well I should have. We got her home and she was still sleepy so we babied her. I brought her up on my lap to rest. After she was super relaxed I thought I would look in her mouth. Well the double row of teeth on top, they were all still there. They only pulled her double canines. Well to say I was upset was an understatement. I called the office and left a message. I asked them to call me back.

Tuesday January 30- We went to work, waiting to get a call. Well they never called back. I thought they would when they arrived and heard the message. Well that didn't happen so I called back. She said well the Doc will probably have us come back over and he will remove them for free. Well did I tell you it was about 1 hour round trip there. Also it wouldn't be for free because we already paid the price you asked for. We just couldn't understand how you can miss a whole second row of teeth in such a little mouth. Well Jeff and I neither one wanted to take her back there. We kind of don't trust them anymore. Jeff asked for some compensation, and wanted to talk to the vet. Let me just tell you this is the start of a very long story.

Wednesday January 31- Back to work today. We tried calling the vet and all we got was an answering machine. Never a call back. Jeff is having some issues with the satellite. Thank goodness our computer techs are here in the park. Jeffrey and Maren dropped by and worked the problem. It nice to have friends that have knowledge in such things. We had planned on going down to the river for a trip up to Trapper Nelson's place. When we went to get the tickets they told us the tide was too low so we will have to do that another time.

Thursday February 1- Last day of work this week. A beauty of a sunrise today. We went up to see how many sites are leaving today.....40. We have never had that many before. So we had a busy day. I called the vet again and after about 4 calls they finally answered. She said the vet said we could have 1/2 our money back, and Ruby's teeth would probably fall out on there own. I wondered why they think that now because when I called them to tell them the problem they told us...if they haven't fallen out by now they aren't going to. So now we will see if the money comes back to us....
We didn't have to do supper here tonight because we are attending a dinner at Generation Church. The have get together's every so often for the dream team, the people that volunteer at the church. Tonight it's a stacation. They had food from all different countries. We liked the Mexican and French the best. Taco stuff from Mexico and Chocolate bread pudding from France....yummm.

They recognized some of the outstanding volunteers and it was a good time of fellowship. I really like how this church is grateful and appreciates everyone's hard work. Nothing goes unnoticed.

Friday February 2- Today was a work day around home. Along with the usual cleaning also took care of some banking and prescriptions. It's really nice to be able to take care of things online. One of the guys here found some buoys and brought them to me. I painted them today and put our name on it....I'm going to hang it outside to help people remember our names. I know with all the people we meet I have a hard time remembering names. Jeff also made a turkey breast in our instant pot. We really love ours. It cooks everything so fast and improves the tenderness of the meat. We love ours for sure. It takes a while to figure out all the details because it's hard to trust the short cook time. It's Jeff's toy and he is doing most of the cooking with it.

Saturday February 3- It's really windy again today...we are helping with the next volunteer potluck so I worked today on a trivia game for that. Ashton is playing hockey today and they won both of them. So proud of how well they are doing. Really miss that we can't see them. The volunteers went down to the river concessions to enjoy happy hour with each other. We kind of take over that place.

I guess we didn't get quite happy enough so we headed down to Tiki 52. There was a guy playing there that Jeff really likes so off we went. Jason Montero is his name and he is really good..one of Jeff's favorites.

Sunday February 4- It's Super Bowl Sunday. First we greeted at church. Then we came home and I got stuff ready for tonight. First we went to Jeffrey and Maren's for dinner. She made crock pot lasagna, which was super good. Then we came to our rig to watch the game. It was a really good game and we enjoyed the game and the company. I made a halftime snack, something I saw on pinterest. Well I think we can put this is the category of epic fail. The three of them love corn dogs and these where corn dog bites. They looked good going in but they wouldn't come out...oh well I tried.

Good thing I had made some chex party mix too. The Eagles won and it was an exciting game right to the finish. Usually the commercials are better than the game. This year the game was equally as good.

Monday February 5- Late night for us but the dogs still got up at 6 AM. We decided to go for lunch at a restaurant we liked last year. We drove down to Juno beach and found Captain Charlies Reef Grill. It is a local place and the food and help are excellent. They are known for there seafood. The prices are reasonable too. First time we went for lunch. After  came home and hung around here. Kip and Amanda came by and asked us to join them for happy hour at The Twisted Tuna. We went...we have really been happy lately, well besides the vet thing.

Tuesday February 6- Back to work today and it is a warm one. We hurried to get done because today there was a rocket launch. They are launching The Falcon Heavy today at 1:30. Well Jeff kept checking on line. They had to move it back because of wind sheers. First it was moved to 2:20, then 3:45. We went up to the tower here in the park to see if we could get a better look. Jeffrey and Maren came too. It was pretty exciting to watch. Then we watch 2 of the 3 rocket boosters land standing upright on line. It was crazy.

waiting for the launch
look closely for the white dot
there she goes

Not a bad view either

Thursday February 8- The last couple days we just did our work and enjoyed what the park and campsite have to offer. We are really lucky, meeting wonderful people along the way. Last night we had supper at Outback with Jeffrey and Maren, not very good this time. Can't win'em all. This afternoon we went to happy hour at the concession area here in the park. Many of the volunteers joined in. Always fun to visit with them folks.

Friday February 9- We have big plans today. After inheriting a brand new rug from the neighbors, because they thought it might have ants on it....we met Kip and Amanda, Eric and Susan at Jimmy Graham park to launch the boat. It was a beautiful day for a boat ride, so away we went.

We made our way up the waterway and landed at the Twisted Tuna, we kind of like this place. We had lunch there and everyone loved what they got. Oh what a wonderful way to spend a day.

Saturday February 10- This morning we got up early to ride our bikes down to the river to watch a love run that was taking place. A lot of people from church were running so we wanted to cheer them on. Ruby rode in my bike basket but it was a 5 mile ride there and it was a little long for her.

The 5 mile ride home seemed a bit longer going back. Again Ruby wasn't too happy in the basket, good thing I bungee her in. The rest of the day was spent hanging around our site. The days go so fast because we run in to so many neat people and get to visiting.

Sunday February 11- Started the day in church and it was wonderful. We had such a good time on the boat, they invited us again and we accepted. This time we met at the boat ramp here at the park. Lee a rangers wife joined us too. We headed down the river, it was a bit windy so this way was protected some. We went to Tiki 52, one place we really like. This time it was super busy, and the service was super slow. After sitting for an hour with no service, we abandoned ship, so to speak and headed for a new spot. We pulled in to the dock at U Tiki and was met with a smile. This place was located right across the water from the Jupiter Lighthouse. We found a table and ordered off the outdoor menu. The food was wonderful and so was the service. We will be returning here.

Well that's the end of a couple really great weeks. Can't wait to enjoy the next two weeks.
